Most guests book one of two ways: they already know exactly what they want, or they show up and ask, “which one should I actually get?” There’s no wrong answer — but there is usually a better one for where your body is that particular week.
Start with where the tension lives
Massage — deep tissue, hot stone, or Swedish — is built for the body: shoulders locked from a desk, a lower back that’s been complaining since the move, legs that ran further than planned. If you can point to it, massage is usually the right starting place.
Scalp and head work goes a different direction. It’s less about a single sore spot and more about the general hum of a busy mind — the kind of tension that doesn’t announce itself as pain, just as a head that hasn’t fully relaxed in weeks.

A simple way to decide
- Sore, tight, or physically worked — massage.
- Wired, foggy, or just “on” all the time — scalp ritual.
- Both, and you have the time — one of our combination rituals pairs the two in a single visit.
“Most people don’t need more pressure. They need more attention paid to the right place.”
When in doubt, ask in the room
You don’t have to get this right before you book. Every session at Ember Spa starts with a few minutes of conversation, and treatments are shaped in the room based on how you’re actually feeling that day — not on a form you filled out a week ago.
